Finalizo a saga de avaliações dos perfumes Dries Van Noten pelas criações Santal Greenery e Cannabis Patchouli. Minha visão geral sobre a marca: esperava algo mais ousado considerando a moda de Dries Van Noten, mas o ramo de perfume hoje é um dinheiro rápido para qualquer marca e acho que mesmo os clientes de Dries Van Noten não usariam fragrâncias tão ousadas quanto seus designs. Portanto, o que obtemos é uma coleção sólida, mas muito cara. Mas a perfumaria de nicho/exclusiva está superfaturada hoje em dia, então é mais um reflexo de uma tendência maior.
Santal Greenery é sobre sândalo e figos, mas para mim é mais na prática sobre sândalo, frutas cítricas e violetas. Talvez haja algum sândalo natural aqui, mas o que eu mais consigo perceber é um potente uso do sintético javanol, criando uma impressão de sândalo como algo floral, amadeirado e seco. O cítrico cria uma abertura brilhante e fresca para o sândalo e a violeta completa com uma nuance folhosa. Tudo bem feito, não parece similar a nada, mas também parece pouco inspirado.
Cannabis Patchouli - não sei por que eles o chamaram de cannabis patchouli porque nem a cannabis nem o patchouli são realmente estrelas aqui. Essa é uma daquelas fragrâncias com uma dose enorme de iso e super fazendo o papel do cedro. No geral é bem parecido com o Hermès Poivre Samarcande, mas menos apimentado.

My overview of the brand: I expected something more edgy considering Dries Van Noten's fashion, but the perfume business today is a quick buck for any brand and I don't think even Dries Van Noten's customers would wear fragrances as edgy as their designs . So what we get is a solid but very expensive collection. But niche/exclusive perfumery is overpriced these days, so it's more a reflection of a larger trend.
Santal Greenery is about sandalwood and figs, but for me it's more down to earth about sandalwood, citrus and violets. Perhaps there is some natural sandalwood here, but what I can most notice is a potent use of synthetic javanol, creating an impression of sandalwood as something floral, woody and dry. Citrus creates a bright, fresh opening to sandalwood and violet completes with a leafy nuance. All well done, it doesn't look similar to anything else, but it also feels uninspired.
Cannabis Patchouli - not sure why they called it patchouli cannabis because neither cannabis nor patchouli are really stars here. This is one of those fragrances with a huge dose of iso and super playing the role of cedar. In general it is very similar to Hermès Poivre Samarcande, but less spicy.
