Para entender a existência da coleção Le Potager é preciso ir além do que a L'Artisan nos conta nas descrições e nas próprias criações. Esta coleção é quase como uma vitrine das novas extrações vegetais que a Symrise desenvolveu e apresentou em 2020. Usando técnicas de upcycle (processo que reusa materiais naturais para extrair aromas que seriam descartados), a Symrise criou o que estão sendo chamados de alcoolatos de materiais vegetais incomuns, entregando algumas notas de saída de vegetais que soam únicas e também muito confortável ao mesmo tempo.
Isso fica bem evidente em Tonka Blanc, que a princípio não oferece nada muito longe do que você esperaria. É uma fragrância de fava tonka cremosa, levemente adocicada e amendoada que envolve a pele com uma cremosidade abaunilhada aveludada e atalcada. Aí você vê que a fragrância é composta por fava tonka, tangerina e couve-flor e aí você se pergunta: como foi parar a couve-flor ali?
A perfumista que o desenvolveu descreve o extrato de couve-flor como cremoso, levemente atalcado, com baunilha e uma faceta de amêndoa quase tostada. Portanto, esta fragrância Tonka Blanc é mais um exercício de extração de uma textura familiar aconchegante usando materiais incomuns. Se você não sabe que há couve-flor aqui certamente não notará, mas foque o nariz nos detalhes depois disso e verá que há uma textura levemente verde e vegetal por trás das nuances cremosas e atalcadas usuais que você esperaria . To understand the existence of Le Potager collection you need to go beyond what L'Artisan is telling us on the descriptions and on the creations themselves. This collection is almost like a showcase of the new vegetable extractions that Symrise developed and presented in 2020. Using techniques of upcycle techniques Symrise has created what are being called alcoholates of unusual vegetable materials, delivering some top notes from vegetables that sounds unique and also very comfortable at the same time.
This is quite evident on Tonka Blanc, which at first doesn't offer you anything very far from what you would expect. It is a creamy, slightly sweet and almondy tonka fragrance that wraps the skin with a velvet powdery vanillic creaminess. Then you see that the fragrance is composed of tonka bean, mandarin orange and cauliflower and then you wonder: how cauliflower went there?
The perfumer that developed it describe the cauliflower extract as creamy, slightly powdery, with vanilla and an almost toasted almond facet. So this Tonka Blanc fragrance is more an exercise of extracting cozy familiar texture using unusual materials. If you don't know that there is cauliflower here you will certainly not notice it, but focus your nose on the details after that and then you see there is a slightly green and vegetable texture being the usual creamy and powdery nuances that you would expect. It is another perfect example of what i have said that L'Artisan was always good at: being innovators without disrupting, but instead anticipating trends.
